6th CCP Phenogenomics Conference 2024: Advancing Gene Therapy and Rare Disease Research
The 6th CCP Phenogenomics Conference, held from September 17–18, 2024, in Prague, brought together experts in the field of rare diseases, gene therapy, and experimental models. The conference saw a robust participation of 263 attendees, including 29 speakers from around the world. Among the key sessions were discussions on gene function models, therapeutic delivery mechanisms, and the role of non-coding RNA.
The event was highlighted by keynote presentations from renowned scientists such as Jef D. Boeke (NYU Langone Health, United States), who spoke on “Engineering Mammalian Genomes,” and Cathleen Lutz (The Jackson Laboratory, United Sates), who discussed gene-based therapies. David Sabatini of the Czech Academy of Sciences shared insights on the mTOR pathway and its role in growth and metabolism. In addition, the conference featured emotional perspectives from patient advocates like Špela Miroševič, a founder of the CTNNB1 Foundation.
Over 30 scientific and technological posters were exhibited, further showcasing the innovative research being conducted in phenogenomics and gene editing. The event served as a key platform for fostering collaboration between researchers, industry experts, and CCP staff, advancing the field toward precision medicine.
