VACANCY – Project manager

The Czech Centre for Phenogenomics, at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, which specializes in finding the function of genes, is looking for a motivated and responsible candidate for the position of Project Manager. The Czech Centre for Phenogenomics works with a number of Czech and European grants and provides service activities to infrastructure users as well as contract research. The Centre is part of European and international consortia and is also involved in educational and training activities in a national and international environment.

Job description:

  • Administrative support for the preparation of project proposals – preparation of administrative parts of project applications, language proofreading of research parts, communication and completion of documents from partner organizations, cooperation with project coordinators
  • Administrative management of projects in implementation – in cooperation with the legal department, ensuring the conclusion of relevant contracts, organization of project meetings, regular reporting of project progress, preparation of meeting minutes, preparation/completion of interim and final reports, communication with the provider, ensuring project publicity
  • Providing consultation and assistance to members of the research team in the preparation and implementation of projects
  • Follow-up of national and international calls relevant to the research team, study of the conditions of grant calls, summary of essential requirements, transfer of information to management
  • Complete organization of international events, seminars and conferences
  • Maintaining up-to-date content on the center’s website and social networks and project/event websites
  • Monitoring the publication activity of the centre

Required skills/qualification:

  • University education
  • At least 3 years of experience in the administration of publicly funded projects
  • Openness to new challenges and excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills
  • Independence, responsibility
  • Czech language at the native level, active knowledge of the English language (C1)
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word), working with the Internet, WordPress is an advantage
  • Assertiveness, ability to deal with people, ability and desire to learn
  • Knowledge of the public research institutes’ environment is an advantage
