VACANCY – Laboratory Technician of the PDX & Cancer Models

The Czech Centre for Phenogenomics is a large research infrastructure that provides unique services for the biomedical and biotechnology research community in the fields of genome editing, phenotyping and animal model research. To expand our team we are currently looking for candidates for Laboratory technician of the PDX & Cancer Models.

Core responsibilities:

  • Assistance regarding the work with on mice 
  • Anaesthesia monitoring, basic equipment operation
  • Post-operative care of animals
  • Monitoring the health status and behaviour of animals
  • Working with cell cultures, staining preparations, diluting solutions, monitoring stock
  • Compliance with work procedures according to SOP
  • Another tasks according to instruction from supervisors

Requirements:

  • At least high school / college degree in a relevant field (biology, veterinary or medical laboratory technician or equivalent)
  • Very good relationship with laboratory rodents, working experience with mice is welcome
  • Medical fitness for working with animals
  • Knowledge of standard office software
  • Intermediate Czech and English (you will daily interact with foreign colleagues)

    Experience with animal/mice surgery working with PDX, tumour cells tumours or experience in organoid preparation or cell is advantageous. The position is suitable for graduates, however we may accept school practicians as well.

The employer is the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The workplace is the CCP building in BIOCEV campus in Vestec. The initial contract is for 12 month with expected extension upon demonstrated proficiency. The starting date is negotiable.
